The Small Quartz Dilatometer Kit ships with the TMA 4000 Advanced Analysis Kit (L8040202). The dilatometer has a 0.1 mL capacity to be used with the 15 mm diameter furnace. It is compatible with the TMA 4000. The kit includes:
This kit permits the determination of volumetric changes of materials as a function of temperature. It is useful for materials that have a linear coefficient of expansion that cannot be easily determined by the expansion probe. The dilatometer is useful for determining the volume change of materials upon melting, or upon cooling from a melt. A typical application would be the determination of shrinkage from a mold.
