The Stainless Steel High Pressure Capsules are reusable capsules with disposable seals. They have an operating range of -170 to 400°C, a volume of 30 µL, and 150 bar maximum pressure. The capsules come with 20 replacement seals, but gold-plated sealing disks (B0182905) are available. These capsules use the High Pressure Capsule Sealing Tool (B0182864). High pressure capsules are recommended whenever higher pressures are expected. The covers of these capsules contain a bursting disk that allow sample to escape in the event that pressure exceeds 150 atm. This allows the endothermic signal produced by volatile samples or by-products to be suppressed, which permits the study of explosive materials and can be used in any situation where the a self-generating atmosphere is used. Capsules are available in stainless steel, gold-plated stainles steel, and titanium.
